ARMY MASS TRANSPORATION BENEFIT PROGRAM

The Army Mass Transportation Benefit Program's purpose is to reduce Federal employee contribution to traffic congestion and air pollution while expanding their community alternatives by using mass transportation.

The Army MTBP reimburses Army personnel for transit costs incurred in their local commute to and from their residence to their permanent duty station workplace. Army Soldiers and civilian employees are eligible for reimbursement of their qualified mass transportation costs, not to exceed actual expenses, up to a set limit.

The monthly max benefit amount for the Army MTBP is equal to the Washington Headquarters Service's MTBP current monthly amount, which can be found at www.whs.mil/Mass-Transportation-Benefit-Program. For the Calendar Year 2026, the max amount for the Army MTBP is $340 per month.

In the near future, the Army MTBP will be replacing the manual paper processes by automating the application workflow to ensure the program is not vulnerable to fraud, waste and abuse.
