Vietnam War Commemoration

The Vietnam War Era ended 50 years ago, and our nation is honoring Vietnam War Era veterans with the last year of its 50th anniversary commemorations this year.

Across our nation, Americans are uniting to thank and honor Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. This is the mission of The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, a national 50th anniversary commemoration, authorized by Congress and reaffirmed by President Donald J. Trump in 2017.

Retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Donald Canaday salutes Vietnam War-era veterans as his wife, Sharon, and Brig. Gen. Paige M. Jennings, U.S. Army Financial Management Command commanding general, look on during USAFMCOM’s Vietnam War commemoration at the Maj. Gen. Emmett J. Bean Federal Center in Indianapolis March 25, 2024. Canaday enlisted in the U.S. Army infantry in 1954, attended Officer Candidate School, commanded two artillery batteries, served in Vietnam from 1964-1965 as a senior advisor of a South Vietnamese infantry battalion, and served as commander of President Gerald Ford’s amnesty program of Vietnam deserters at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. USAFMCOM's March 28 Event

Help us honor our Vietnam Era Veterans as the U.S. Army Financial Management Command hosts a special Vietnam War Commemoration ceremony at the Maj. Gen. Emmett J. Bean Federal Center on March 28 at 1 p.m. ET.

If you are a Vietnam Era veteran who was on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of the location of your service, we want to honor your service during this ceremony. If you know someone who deserves that recognition and meets the above criteria, please invite them to the ceremony.

Participants will receive a special Vietnam Veteran lapel pin and a certificate of appreciation as we welcome these heroes home.
