Deputy to the Commander (Interim)

Christopher L. Reynolds

Christopher L. Reynolds currently serves as the U.S. Army Financial Management Command interim deputy to the commander.

In this role, Reynolds serves as the principal advisor to the USAFMCOM commander, ensuring the two-star command delivers precision, enterprise-wide financial operations to integrate, synchronize and sustain the battlefield through the Joint Strategic Area. He also advises the commander in USAFMCOM’s direct support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller in their role as the principal advisor on all matters related to financial management and comptrollership. 

Reynolds most recently served as USAFMCOM’s Process Management and Compliance director where he was responsible for world-wide improvement and optimization of Army processes that pertain to financial management policies, systems, and reporting requirements.  He was also responsible for enforcing compliance through internal control testing and validation.

Reynolds retired after 28 years of military service in the U.S. Army where he gained in-depth experience and progressive responsibility in command and staff positions in the Army and the Joint Force.  He served in every non-commissioned officer leadership position from squad leader to nominative command sergeant major and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 56).

Additionally, Reynolds holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from trinity college and university, and he is pursuing his Master of Business Administration from Phoenix University.  He is a Certified Defense Financial Manager – Acquisition, DOD Financial Management Certification Level 3 and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He is also a member of the Association of the U.S. Army, Society of Defense Financial Management, and the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

Reynolds’ operational deployments include Operations Desert Storm – Saudi Arabia, Operation Iraqi Freedom – Iraq, Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan and Operation New Dawn - Kuwait.  He also deployed in support of Joint Task Force – Bravo, Honduras.

He is a recipient of the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, Finance Corps Distinguished Member of the Regiment Medallion and the Adjutant General Corps’ Horatio Gates Bronze Medal.
